Recently, they recorded this new duo project \u00ab\u00a0Wind of Tomorrow\u00a0\u00bb presenting their compositions, that conjugate Mariane Bitran\u2019s warm and expressive flutes with Alain Apaloo\u2019s inventive lines and style that frequently remind one of his native country, Togo. Her music is wide-spanning; inspired by different forms and rhythms and by her collaboration with musicians from the world-jazz-scene, as well as her roots in both classical and contemporary music. Mariane Bitran has released two albums with her quintet on Stunt Records, <em>A Place for you<\/em> and <em>All One<\/em>, then in collaboration with Japanese pianist, Makiko Hirabayashi, <em>Grey to Blue<\/em> with American saxophonist, Bob Rockwell.<br \/>\nAs soloist, Mariane Bitran has performed in festivals and toured in France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Brazil, with musicians such as: Christophe Chassol, Bertrand Renaudin&rsquo;s Zoomtop Orchestra with Richard Bona, Oscar Castro Neves, Novelli, Pernille Bevort, Marcelo Nisinman, Simon Spang-Hanssen\u2019s <em>Brazilian Project<\/em> and <em>Caf\u00e9 Central<\/em>, Bojan Z \u2026 In Denmark, Mariane has played\/recorded with Peter Danstrup <em>Sacrified<\/em>, Simon Spang-Hanssen&rsquo;s <em>Brazilian Project<\/em> and <em>Cafe Central<\/em>, Alain Apaloo\u2019s <em>ApiPipo<\/em> with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Pernille Bevorts <em>Radio Bevort<\/em>, Arnold Ludvig Sextet, Jens Viggo Fjord Trio, Saba with Ayi Solomon, Ijexa Group with dancer Barthelot Ekeme, among others\u2026<\/p>\n<p><em>Mariane Bitran can play in this sphere where contrasts meet and this is an artistic strength.<br \/>\n<\/em>Tine Clara Holb\u00f8ll. Jazz Special<br \/>\n\u00a0\u00bb <em>She expressed herself with elegance\u2026and at the same time she possessed a reel and progressive imagination in the jazz idiom.<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb<br \/>\nKjeld Frandsen &#8211; Berlingske Tidende<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong> Alain Apaloo<\/strong><br \/>\nStarted from childhood playing traditional drums in traditional african music ensembles in his home country, in Togo. Alain began to play guitar early with the legendary Togolese blues singer, Jimmy Hope, then in Ghana with Kwame Yeboa\u2019s <em>Sakra Band<\/em>.<br \/>\nIn 1996, Apaloo fell in with Ghana\u2019s leading star, Kojo Antwi, touring extensively throughout Europe and North America.<br \/>\nSince his move to Copenhagen, where he graduated from The Rhythmic Music Conservatory, Alain Apaloo has leaded his own projects: Apaloo\u2019s Solo, Mezzy Slide &amp; The Crew, APT3 and ApiPipo, world music that is inspired by Alain\u2019s African roots and jazz. Especially, this project has been successful with two al<span style=\"color: #333333;\">bums: <em>Nunya<\/em> gu<\/span>est starring guitar player, Kurt Rosenwinkel and <em>Floodgate<\/em>, that won the Danish World Music Award of the year 2009.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Already in 2007, Alain Apaloo was nominated for Best Danish Blues Album for his Blues record <em>Flying Vision<\/em>.
